Soil Disturbance Permits (5,000 sq ft)
(908) 332-8548
Are you planning a massive backyard makeover or a big commercial build? If you move a mountain of mud, you might trigger a mountain of local rules! In Bridgewater, any earth-moving project that disturbs 5,000 square feet or more of soil legally requires a Soil Disturbance Permit. You cannot just fire up a bulldozer and start digging; you must have official, certified approval before your construction permits are ever issued. We expertly handle all of this heavy red tape for you, so your project stays totally safe, perfectly legal, and completely stress-free!

Passing the Township Test
Securing your soil permit means satisfying two strict local bosses. First, your project needs a permit straight from the Bridgewater Engineering Department. On top of that, you must get an official Plan Certification from the Somerset-Union Soil Conservation District. We manage this double-duty paperwork for you! We submit the exact engineering details required, like your lot size, specific soil types, and hidden bedrock depths, so you never face a frustrating township delay.
Stopping the Muddy Mess
Why do storm inlets collapse in the first place? Over time, heavy traffic and harsh winter freeze-thaw cycles crush the concrete blocks buried beneath the steel grate. We do not just slap a cheap, temporary patch on top! We bring in our heavy machinery to safely dig out the crumbling, sinking debris. Then, we expertly rebuild the interior blocks to create a rock-solid basin. Finally, we repave and perfectly pitch the surrounding asphalt so heavy stormwater flows straight down the drain without destroying your pavement.
Racing the Construction Clock
Did you know that playing by the rules means watching the clock? We are legally required to give an advanced 48-hour written notice to the Soil Conservation District before our excavator buckets ever scrape the grass. If your exposed dirt sits idle for more than 30 days, the law forces us to temporarily seed it to stop dust and muddy runoff. Finally, we perfectly grade and permanently plant grass on your soil within a strict 10-day window after finishing the job. Bridgewater will actually refuse to give you a final Certificate of Occupancy until your dirt is fully and permanently stabilized!
